Take Action

NYRA's rally outside of the Supreme Court on November 2, 2011 during oral argument in the historic Brown v. EMA case deciding whether young people have a First Amendment right to purchase video games.

Who is NYRA? You are. NYRA isn’t just a youth rights organization; we are the leading edge of a youth rights movement. The grassroots power of young people and their allies to build support for the rights, freedom and equality of young people is incredible. Only by tapping that power can this movement be successful.

We may learn in school that Martin Luther King Jr. fought for civil rights, but rarely does school examine in depth the grassroots movement behind him. Like any other form of discrimination, ageism will only be defeated through the passion and energy of many. By ten thousand pin pricks and a hundred thousand voices, ageism will fall.

This page is your path to join our chorus of youth rights advocates. So join the movement, start a chapter, donate to the cause, intern at our office, volunteer online and get equipped with the best tools we can give you to advance this movement. We will only be successful if we work together.

NYRA’s mission centers on challenging age discrimination against young people, both in law and in attitudes and supporting the basic freedoms afforded to young Americans in the Bill of Rights.
