Jacqueline Houston
Jacqueline is a graduate student in the MPH/MSW concurrent degree program at the University of South Florida and the Campaign Lead for NYRA Tampa. Jacqueline developed a passion for youth rights following the suicide of her best friend after returning home from a Troubled Teen Industry facility as a teenager. Her activism is informed by her professional background in suicide first-aid and prevention, child welfare, domestic violence, and global health. She enjoys writing, photography, baking, and installation art. Jacqueline fights for a future where all of Florida’s youth have guaranteed protections under the law and to ensure that those who succumbed to their mental and physical injuries in congregate care are never forgotten.
