Oh, and Adult Swim would be great.

The company i'm looking at would create a professional ad for us and help us air it, and I believe that that is the best option and is a goal we could reach. Not only would this ad be on the air over 30 times, but we could put it on youtube as well…

I think the history channel would be
a good place to place a NYRA ad.
most people who watch that channel
are pretty politicaly acute

So if we have a good ad, we now have $500-$600 pledged. Anyone else?

It should be about the voting age. For an old audience, use an argument for lowering to 16 (taxation without representation, tried as adult). For a young audience, use an argument with no specific age (adults with no connection to school board can vote but students can't, politicians would care more about youth rights, everyone deserves to have their opinions heard).

Just curious, what are people's reasons for wanting to do the voting age versus of the drinking age?

If the audience is between 18 and 23, the drinking age would probably be better.

18-20 are directly affected by the drinking age, 21-23 have friends who are affected by the drinking age. They wouldn't care too much about the voting age because they can legally vote.

People over 24 are more likely to support the 21 drinking age because they are not affected by it. People under 18 are usually not affected by the drinking age because a lot of them don't drink.

The voting age looks better for us if our audience is lawmakers and the general public. It's hard to argue with that, and if we want to vote it makes us look politically active and intelligent. If we want to lower the drinking age, people will think we're just a bunch of teenagers who want to get drunk legally.

"Thanks for your e-mail and I appreciate the fact that you articulated your viewpoint in a rational and cogent manner. A few questions though, Stefan. Who are you voting for in the Presidential Election this November? Kerry? Bush? Oh, you mean you can't vote? Why is that? What kind of car do you drive? Ford? Jeep? Oh you mean you don't drive. Why is that? Why is that you can't just stay home for the rest of the year and not go to school? Why?"

We shouldn't forget about reaching people young. The reality of our situation is, lots of kids are opposed to our position because they've been gotten to already. I think we should strongly consider gearing some kind of persuasive campaign towards young children, ages 5 through 10 — not only to persuade them that youth rights is a real issue, but to get them interested in politics in general.
