When/ where does it end? If this ordinance passes, I intend to gather a large group of 18 to 20 year old (young adults) and openly protest. This is the most reprehensible, biased curfew I've ever heard proposed. Can you imagine an 18 to 20 year old member of our "Armed Forces" being told that he can't be at a 4th of July celebration (in a public venue) without adult supervision? I think NOT! Look at the lengths this city is willing to go to to promote ageism and/ or ephebiphobia… sickening!!!

Tyranny right there!

I’m 35 and thus, age restrictions may not affect me. But the conduct of some politicians concerns me.

I’m not an oppressive status quo accepter, I’m a fighter!!!

The proposed curfew in Albany, Georgia is tyranny. It is equivalent to the legal discrimination that African Americans experienced in the South in the 1960s. The age of majority in Georgia is 18 so there's no excuse at all to approve of a curfew that uses 21 as a minimum age. If the curfew passes, there should be civil disobedience by young women and young men who are in the 18-20 age range. The bill in the Albany City Council must not pass. If the city wanted to stop violent problems during events, then the police would have to have a better strategy to deal with it. Instead, some the ageist councilmembers treat people under 21 as a problem. They are not a problem and like anyone else, it's the individual's fault if she or he has caused a problem; not an age group. If the curfew passes, there would significantly more oppression against young women and young men who are 18-20. Listen Albany, Georgia, stop the oppression.

That's pretty crazy. It's part of the overall trend of slowly infantilizing people in their late teens and early 20s. Someday, the age of majority probably will be raised to 25.

Freedom is a birth right, not a reward that must be earned.
