NYRA's 2007 Annual Meeting in Washington, DC is almost upon us!
In less than a week NYRA members from around the country will gather in our nation's capitol for what promises to be the biggest, most involved Annual Meeting yet. The Annual Meeting is set for July 28-29 in Washington, DC.
For the first time, we will have a full range of workshops and trainings for Annual Meeting attendees. Check out the full agenda:
Saturday
9 - 9:30 - opening remarks by Alex Koroknay-Palicz
9:30 - 11 - A workshop from Youth Advocates for Community-based Treatment (Youth ACT) on the abusive behavior modification industry.
11 - 12 - Campaign for Youth Justice panel discussion on the juvenile justice system and trying youth as adults.
12 - 1 - Lunch (pizza! free!)
1 - 2 - A training from Youth Venture on how NYRA chapters can apply for up to $1,000 in funding.
2 - 3 - A discussion on how to get youth interested in youth rights led by NYRA member, Stefan Muller.
3 - 6 - Annual report, strategic planning & Voting for the board election.
Sunday
9 - 10 - A workshop by the ACLU on student rights, curfews and other related issues.
10 - 11 - A training from the Youth Policy Action Center on how to use their resource (free for NYRA members) to more effectively write letters to congress, write letters to the editor or other letter writing campaigns.
11 - 1 - A training from Students for Sensible Drug Policy about how to build and organize campaigns on campus to change school policies.

If you are metroing in (recommended) take the red line to Dupont Circle. Get off at the
south exit and just keep walking straight (i.e. south) once you get to street level.
Our office will be about 2-3 blocks down on your left. The building will be locked, so

Lunch will be free on Saturday, and we'll probably get some basic breakfast in the morning as well.
There is no cost for attending the meeting.
